Summer 2008
Hi
Everyone,
Yes, this is the Summer Newsletter
out in "summer". Having said that, , there hasn't
really been much evidence of it as yet. In fact as I'm
writing this, I'm freezing.
The Wedding season is well and truly
under way. Whoever said Marriage was going out of fashion
got it wrong in my humble opinion. I'm turning bookings
away because it's physically impossible for me to do anymore.
With the exception of Biddick Art
Centre the first Saturday of each month, I'm not sure
that I'll be doing anything other than weddings at this
rate.
As Brides send me photograph of their
wedding day, I will post them on the website (with their
permission). It's all very well for me to put photos of
the flowers just as they are, but they look better in
context along with the wedding dress and other accessories.
Black and white/ivory remains a very
popular and elegant colour combination for weddings, but
also greens, pinks and lilacs in the pastels and citrus
orange and lime, hot pinks and purples in the bold colours.
They make for some stunning results. Of course, traditional
favorite's such as the red rose remains timeless.
Don't be scared to try what may be
regarded as strange colour combinations. You would be
surprised how striking orange, cerise, purple and lime
green look together. Sometimes the venue can influence
your colour choice. Inspiration can be found in the strangest
of places!
As usual, I have posted my whereabouts
below until October (as far as I know them) without individually
listing the first Saturday of the month at the Art Centre.
If there are any cancellations or additions, I will make
the changes to the list below so please check before setting
off to attend any of the venues.
